17 Aug Assembly Report
A perfect and peaceful start to a day has always been the driving force behind the Assembly committee. Striving to make every morning meaningful, we impart values through our various programmes and prayers. The academic year began on a thoughtful note with an assembly organized by the staff enlightening students about the vision of our college ‘communion, excellence and service’ and its motto ‘let your light shine’. This helped students right out of school to become aware, adapt themselves and tune into the vibes of a new environment.
A select group of students lead the college in prayer through the intercom at 8.30 in the morning which is followed by the National Anthem, Naada Geethe or College Anthem. Besides this, every Monday morning is primarily devoted to class assemblies wherein every class is assigned a specific theme and they through their innovative, catchy and gripping presentation keep the college abreast with the times. These themes deal with the importance of friendship, peace, hope, love, awareness on AIDS, the Kashmir floods etc. and thus can be easily related to one and all. The students also decorate the notice boards with thought provoking charts, posters, newspaper clippings, collages and manage to strike a chord by distributing bookmarks, badges and cards centered on the theme to all the class representatives, sports representatives and the staff.
The assembly committee has also taken the initiative to decorate all the notice boards on special occasions such as the beginning of a new term, leadership camps, Independence Day, Student’s Day, Teacher’s Day and Christmas.
