As an attempt to create able leaders to help society develop, in future students are trained in college by giving them opportunities, to handle little things now. As a part of this attempt, Students’ Union Election was conducted. Before the election, the constitution was read out on the 2nd June in the presence of all the 2nd year students and all the staff. The contestants were informed to nominate themselves by filing their nomination with the student’s advisors on 3rd June. On June 5th the Nominees introduction took place in the college auditorium, while the audience both staff and students present asked them relevant questions to test who was more capable among the group of capable nominees. 3-4 students nominated for each post. The election happened on 6th June. On the same day, the votes were counted and the result of the election was announced. This year Ms Sampriya, Ms Sarah Devotta, Ms Krithika Rajan, Ms Maaduri and Ms Naganetra qualified themselves for the posts of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Cultural Secretary and Sports Secretary respectively. On the 19th of June, the election for the Class and Sports Representatives was held; three nominees were allowed to contest for each post. This election took place in the respective classrooms; and was monitored by two teachers in each class. Votes were counted in classrooms, the result was announced in the class immediately, and names of the elected class and sports representatives was sent to the students’ advisors Mrs Savitha Vasung and Mrs Zaina.
