NCC Report

The National Cadet Corps at Jyoti Nivas College aims and strives hard to groom young girls into able cadets and better citizens brimming with patriotism. Every girl has a cadet within her, a fighter and a leader. JNC’s NCC moulds these girls and works to bring out all these qualities within them.

In the academic year 2014-15, 40 enthusiastic cadets were enrolled. As always they have made college, their ANO and their parents proud. CDT Pooja VJ and CDT Dolly Diana. K. attended the prestigious NCC Republic Day Camp held at Delhi. CDT. Suchitra Saravana, CDT Harshitha G Rao and CDT Asma Hajeera attended the National Integration Camp held at Mysore and Manampadal. They being graceful dancers and having good musical sense, choreographed the dance performances. CDT Mary Jenifer created history at Jyoti Nivas College by being the first ever cadet to be selected for the adventurous Para which involved jumping from a moving aircraft. CDT. Jothika Roshan added another feather to our cap by getting selected for the arduous Jhal Sainik Camp, held at Delhi.

She was awarded the bronze medal for the Obstacles Training. CDT. Shreeya Soni and CDT. Pavithra Harindranath attended the Hospital Attachment Camp held at Command Hospital, Airforce Bangalore. She won the second place in a written First Aid Exam. At the Annual CATC Camp the cadets yet again won the overall trophy for every single activity conducted. To broaden, the cadet’s mental horizon, social service activities like visits to orphanages, Old age homes and participation in Swach Koramangala Abhiyan was held. The reason for all their success is their dynamic, energetic and dedicated ANO. Lt. H.K. Roopa Rani. She has earned the appreciation and praise from several higher officers for her commendable work at the National Integration Camp held at Silchar this year.
