    15th August is a special day, not only as it marks the 80th Independence Day of our nation, but also as it signifies 183 years since the Foundation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes. An elaborate celebratory programme for the same took place on Wednesday, 13th August 2026 with the theme “Daughters of Light, Our Nation’s Pride.” Mohammed Sujeetha IPS served as our Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Dr. George Kannanthanam as our Guest of Honour, and Rev. Sr Mary Mascarenhas SJT, Dr. Nakshatra Gola, Thomas “Auto” Raja, and Band Master Subedar Virendra Kumar Singh were our special invitees. They were each recognised for their invaluable service to the society. The SJT Sisters were also honoured on this momentous occasion and their legacy was celebrated through a play put up by Nexus, the drama team. Performances by the other cultural teams and NCC captured the spirit and relevance of the day, closing the programme in a grand finale.
